The SideroTecassay is a colorimetric test for use in the detection of siderophores secreted by bacteria or fungi, or for the assessment of synthetic iron chelators. The test can be used with liquid culture either directly or following filtration to remove microorganism. The test may also be used with other aqueous based liquids.
